Economic Development
The Village of Schiller Park has a diversified business base. We are at the crossroads of commerce featuring local arterials, the Tri-State Tollway, the Canadian National rail yard, and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. Businesses in Schiller Park range in size from international corporations to local diners. Industries range from hospitality-related travel businesses to machine shops. These 400-plus businesses provide good jobs and a solid tax base for our residents.
Business Licenses
As a home rule municipality, Schiller Park requires an annual business license for all non-home based businesses. The license verifies applicable codes such as zoning, fire, building, property maintenance. If you are looking to start a business in Schiller Park, the first step is to apply for a business license at village hall. For more information on business licenses, please visit our Business Licenses Page.

Capital Programs
The Village of Schiller Park maintains a capital improvement plan and annual capital budget. Capital expenditures include road work, sewer and water main rehabilitation, and storm sewer maintenance. Public improvements are maintained ongoing with renovations on a rotating basis.
Business Incentives
The Village of Schiller Park has worked with many businesses to secure Cook County property tax incentives under the 6b and 7c programs. The Cook County 6b program grants a 12-year property tax reduction for industrial properties requiring upgrade, renovation, or expansion. The Cook County 7c program grants a similar reduction, for 5 years, based on an intent to promote commercial projects. Please note these are Cook County programs. The Village must pass resolutions supporting the incentive, but the final approval is at the county board level.

If interested in obtaining a Class 6B Tax Incentive, please download the application and supporting documents below and submit it to Village Hall to initiate the process:
