Dear Resident and Business Owners,
Members of the Board of Trustees, the Clerk and I were sworn in for a new term on May 6. We are humbled by your generous support and confidence in us and are honored to serve this great Village. We pledge to continue our commitment to the great amount of work ahead. We share the same mission: to spend each day making Schiller Park an even greater place to live, work and raise a family. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for all our citizens.
Keeping our neighborhoods stable, our businesses strong and our citizens safe will always be our highest priority. We will build on the programs and efforts we initiated to continue the revitalization of Schiller Park. This includes fostering regional cooperation and collaborative relationships that have allowed us to receive grants and funding to enhance our infrastructure, including roadway repairs and much needed storm sewer improvements.
Proactive business outreach and innovative economic development policies are bringing new jobs and increased investment into our community. By modernizing our industrial areas and revitalizing our commercial corridors we increase our tax base and help lower the property tax burden on our residents.
This year has been challenging for our country and our village. We have seen too much uncertainty and isolation. As we recover from the effects of this pandemic, let us work together to reignite our sense of community.
As your elected officials, we pledge to put our residents first. We take that pledge as a sacred trust, and we will fulfill that trust to the best of our abilities.
Regards,
Nick Caiafa, Village President
