Precautionary Boil Water Order in Effect!
A water main break occurred early this morning on Montrose Boulevard between Scott Street and Hirschberg Avenue. The water main has been repaired and service has been restored.
Due to the unusual water pressure drop experienced during the water main break, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires the Village issue a precautionary boil order for the entire Village.
The precautionary boil order recommends that the Village water should be boiled for at least 5 minutes before consuming. It should be noted that the precautionary boil order applies only to water that is being consumed and does not apply to water used for washing clothes or water used in the shower.
The BOIL ORDER will remain in effect until laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. This will be Wednesday morning (August 26th) at the earliest. You will receive a further notification once the test results are received.
