I am pleased to announce the following townships are now open for assessment appeals at the Board of Review November 2 through December 1, 2020: Barrington, Elk Grove, Leyden, New Trier, and Wheeling.
You may file a property assessment appeal online by visiting our website. You must have an email address in order to do so. If you filed an appeal online in a previous year and created an account, simply login, include any new evidence you wish to have considered, and submit. I strongly encourage you to create an account when filing online as there are several benefits, including the ability to login and view analysts decisions which provides a greater understanding of how a determination is rendered.
Please visit my Taxpayer Education Center to view helpful videos about the appeal process.
My office is holding additional property assessment appeal webinars for residents seeking to appeal their 2020 assessment. The webinars include a presentation explaining the appeal procedure and educate taxpayers on how to file a successful appeal on your own.
Thursday, November 12 11:00 AM OR 6:00 PM

Analysts will be available online via chat to answer questions during the hourlong presentation.
