  4. Scouts Flag Retirement Ceremony

    June 14, 2021, 7:00 PM @ Clocktower Park

The Knights of Columbus, in cooperation with the Village of Schiller Park, and featuring Scout Troop 105 and Troop 38, invite you and your family to join us for a reverent ceremony to retire torn and tattered American Flags. The “Flag Retirement Ceremony” to celebrate “Flag Day”, will be held on Friday, June 14, 2021 at 7:00 PM, at Clock Tower Park, across from the Schiller Park Village Hall at Irving Park Road & Wesley Terrace. To show proper respect for the flag that has been a symbol of our country for over 200 years, residents and business owners are asked to inspect their American Flags. The United States Code states “no disrespect shall be shown to the flag of the United States of America”. Further, the flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
