1. Do the Schiller Park police officers belong to a charitable organization?

Yes they do - it is called the Schiller Park Fraternal Order of Police ("FOP") Lodge 170. If you receive a phone call claiming to be from the Schiller Park Police soliciting donations, and you are concerned it may not be legitimate, please contact Lodge 170 so they can verify that they were soliciting donations.

2. How can I obtain a Police or Accident Report?

The hours of operation for the Police Records office are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Copies of reports are available, subject to the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. A written request must be submitted via letter, email, or you can fill out a form available at the Police Department. You may also download the request form here. The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) allows five working days to respond to the request.

4. What is an "urban district" and how does it effect speeding violations?

The "urban district" distinction was created by a State Law Public Act 97-0831 and the Cook County Courts, and makes any speeding violation for a speed in excess of 25 miles per hour over the posted limit in an urban district not eligible for court ordered supervision. The new "urban district" law mandates that any alleged violator of that speed or higher in an urban district be given a court date.

5. What is the curfew in Schiller Park?

Curfew applies to anyone under 18 years of age. The hours curfew is in effect are 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Parents and guardians cannot give permission to minors to violate curfew hours. Illinois drivers' licenses for juveniles ages 17 and under are not valid after curfew.

7. Where are Traffic and Criminal Court cases heard for Schiller Park?

Traffic violations and criminal cases are heard at the Third District Municipal District Court of Cook County. The court house is located at 2121 Euclid Avenue, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. Any questions regarding court cases should be referred to the Circuit Court Clerk's Office at 847-818-3000.

The Schiller Park Police Department is located at 9526 West Irving Park Road. The main entrance is in the rear of the Village Hall.

9. Will the Schiller Park Police Department provide extra patrols while I am away on vacation?

Village residents may contact the police department and request a Special Watch. A form will be completed with your name, address and duration of the request. This information will be given to the patrol officers at roll call.

Additionally, your home should appear to be lived in. For example, cancel or suspend newspaper and mail delivery. Otherwise, arrange for someone to collect the mail on a daily basis. Leave interior and exterior lights on timers. Also, leave an itinerary with a trusted friend or neighbor with your contact information. Tell neighbors and friends that should they see anything amiss at your home, to call 9-1-1, and the Schiller Park Police will respond.
